THE CRACK "Everybody's Dreaming"

Another great song by a great band. The Crack were the winners of the 1982 competition entitled "Battle of the Bands", but didn't release their full-lengh album until 1989. This song is from this record, "In search of The Crack" that has recently been re-edited on LP in red vinyl. The lyrics are great too, but I can't find them on the net and I'm too lazy now to write them down. Also I have to say this band is very underrated and they had lots of great other songs, like "My World" that you should definetly check out too. You can see them live probably if you live around Europe, but singer Steve Jones (NOT Sex Pistols guitarrist) is very drunk on stage:

THE ADVERTS "One Chord Wonders" (1977)

This is one of my favourite bands. The Adverts is one of those bands that never got too huge on the first punk days, but still had a lot to say. TV Smith , singer of the band is a great performer and he still plays live acoustic shows and full band ones (with his band of the same name). The lyrics of this song are funny to me, so I've included them too. Enjoy:

THE ADVERTS LYRICS

"One Chord Wonders"

I wonder what we'll play for you tonight.
Something heavy or something light.
Something to set your soul alight.
I wonder how we'll answer when you say.
"We don't like you - go away"
"Come back when you've learned to play"

I wonder what we'll do when things go wrong.
When we're half-way though our favourite song.
We look up and the audience has gone.
Will we feel a little bit obscure.
Think "we're not needed here"
"we must be new wave - they'll like us next year"

The wonders don't care - we don't give a damn.

Round 1: BEATLES vs. SUBLIME

This is the first one of some musical similarities I've have found around the web. I found this one pretty obvious.

Compare these two songs:

SUBLIME - What I've Got

BEATLES - Lady Madonna

COUNTERPUNCH "Heroes & Ghosts" (2010)

GOOD YEAR TO ALL THE KIDS!!!

It seems a lot of time has passed since the 90's and all those punk-rock bands that emerged all around the world. One of those places was Chicago, a city where bands like 88 Fingers Louie, Lawrence Arms, Bollweevils, or Rise Against were born. Those days of fast punk-rock with melody that now are considered classics by the most of us.
If you are one of those 90's kids, then Counterpunch is your band. After their critically acclaimed first album "An idiots guide of being an asshole", they're back with a brand new album entitled "Heroes & Ghosts".

This piece of punk-rock contains a dose of great songs with very catchy melodies. Listen "We Believe", "Heroes & Ghosts" or "The Great Regression" for proof.
Also it is important to know Counterpunch count in their line-up with the ex-Break the Silence guitarrist Brian.

Listen them closely because this album may become a classic someday...
